A while ago I transcribed Jochen Reuckert’s arrangement of “Pent-up House” from his record titled ‘Introduction’. It’s a nice rhythmic treatment of a melody we all know. I originally wrote it out like this:
Today I received a text message from a drummer who will be playing this with me at a gig next week. He told me he found a way to count through it that works much better for him. I updated my chart on it because I think what he came up with makes a lot more sense. It now looks like this:
