My request: there are 2 recordings by Sinfonia em Quadrinhos by the wizard. I have the 1986 version, recorded in May 31 at MASP, SP. I would like to get any other info available, track list, musicians etc.

So, Goodrick is teaching a masterclass and one of his topics was practicing with the metronome clicking on 2 and 4. After the clinic, a student approaches him and says “Hey, Mick, that was a great masterclass etc…. but I gotta ask you, where did you get a metronome that can click on 2 and 4? Mine only clicks on 1 and 3!” Dun dun dun …..

So anyways, here is a metronome that can go down to 0.1 BPM. That’s one click every 10 MINUTES. Have fun with it!! (yes, it is mac only. Sorry)

This is Ben Monder’s solo on Everything I Love from a Jochen Rueckert album from around 1998 or 1999. Don’t know who Jochen Rueckert is? Well that’s too bad, and you should find out more about him.

I decided I wanted to transcribe this solo to get some insight into the way Monder can play seemingly endless eighth note lines without sounding like he’s: A) masturbating or B) running out of steam. It’s very interesting to see how much of his vocabulary uses very simple “jazz” idioms. Specifically, the way he uses enclosures and other forms of chromaticism based on the key centers of the song. A few other things I’d like to mention: use of triads in measures 33-37 60 70 & 75, tritone sub in measure 41 that DOESN’T sound unbearably stupid, hemiola in measures 52 – 60, and diatonic planing/maj7#5 chord (!!!) in measure 54.
